Deloitte supports Camphill MK charity during the cost of living crisis
We’re thrilled to announce that Deloitte has donated £7,000 to Camphill MK to help support us during the cost of living crisis.
Earlier this year, we were announced as Deloitte’s charity partner (for the Milton Keynes office) for the next three years. As part of Deloitte’s 5 Million Futures (5MF) programme supporting schools, charities and social impact organisations to break down educational and employment barriers to get more young and under-represented people where they want to go.
As part of the support, Deloitte’s donation will help us navigate this time of financial uncertainty. In addition to the financial support, Deloitte is arranging IT training for their staff and will donate laptops and future fundraising activities.
Our CEO, Tim Davies, explains: “The cost-of-living crisis is real, and the impact on our charity is across almost every area, from the actual and considerable increase in utilities to food costs for our 70 residents and purchasing materials for their workshops and activities. We look to protect our residents (adults with learning disabilities and autism) from big financial worries like this, and this support from Deloitte is a welcome contribution to our community.”
Claire Burton, head of corporate responsibility at Deloitte, said: “We have made this donation after listening to Deloitte’s 5 Million Futures (5MF) charity partners to understand how best we can support them. It is our hope that these donations will help our 28 charity partners and 34 partner schools to navigate cost challenges.”
When the cost of living crisis started to take hold, we experienced increased utility and food costs. These costs are considered when sourcing food for our 70 residents who live, work, learn and celebrate at their sites in Willen Park and Pennyland.
We are expanding our community by building an additional 60 accessible bedrooms. The aim is to assist our ageing residents in living dignified and comfortable lives in later life. In addition, Deloitte will continue to support us until at least 2025 with expert advice, staff impact days, payroll giving, and training.
