Cor, what a fantastic day we had on Saturday at our Handmade Craft & Food Fair! We raised a whopping £5024.76 for our charity, which is £1400
Join artist Jennifer Millard for a five-hour course creating a fancy layered flowerpot.
5-hour Ceramics Course:
Week 1: 1st February 6-9 pm
Making a fancy flowerpot in the pottery workshop.
This hand-building ceramic workshop will teach you the art of layering clay to form a flowerpot of approximately 5×7 inches. Using slab and coil construction, you will learn to create beautiful textured surfaces to build these unique forms with the opportunity to add your own designs. This workshop is designed for beginners and those with experience learning different techniques.
Week 2: 8th February 6-8 pm
Glazing the pot(s) from week 1, the 2-hour session allows plenty of time to glaze the intricate designs you created on your pot.
Participants will glaze their pots from our collection of brush-on glazes, oxides, and underglazes. The finished works will be ready for collection by 30th November. If you choose to join our textile course (at an additional cost), you can make a macramé hanging basket for your pot (optional).
(Please note the course runs two weeks apart, allowing time for firing.)
Cost: 5-hour course £60.00

Jennifer Millard trained in 3D Design and Ceramics but is equally at home working with textiles and print. She works to commission and has exhibited nationally and internationally. All her work is inspired by natural form and the uniqueness of the individual. Her current ceramic interest is coiled, burnished simple forms, often smoke-fired, to celebrate the purity of the clay.
Jennifer loves to communicate her joy in creativity and enable others to grow in artistic confidence. She has led workshops in the community and schools for many years. She delivers pottery and craft workshops at Camphill MK three days a week.
