Camphill MK's Ambassadors

Meet our Ambassadors

Ambassadors help amplify the voice of Camphill MK, they may speak to others about the work of Camphill MK and encourage individuals to support the charity by becoming a Friend, donating funds, attending events and also becoming Ambassadors.

By sharing the story of Camphill MK, informally or formally, they hope to inspire others to want to get to know the charity, building Camphill MK’s reputation as a key charity within Milton Keynes.

Carly Higgs

Carly has worked to support charities throughout her whole career.  She now works for MKFM: Milton Keynes’ Radio Station and brings people together for networking and celebrating our city.

“I like many others was blown away by the whole ethos of Camphill MK. My first introduction was through the Co-op and I couldn’t believe that I didn’t know about this hidden gem in our city. The time I spend at Camphill MK is always joyful and I will do anything I can to support this wonderful community”.

Ian Revell

Ian is currently CEO for MK Community Foundation.  He has experience of working with donors and on capital projects and is incredibly passionate about Milton Keynes and the people who create it. 

“Camphill is such an important part of Milton Keynes, a place of incredible diversity and abilities which so much vibrance to our city, of place worthy of all our support, I encourage everyone to get involved and do whatever you can to support this fabulous charity”.

Muriel Moffoot

Muriel’s career was in education with a particular emphasis on providing quality opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities, and a passion for making choral singing accessible to all. She is a lay preacher in the MK Methodist Circuit and volunteers at Camphill MK each week, supporting the drama workshops.

“Camphill MK is a community I have always visited regularly as it is such an inspiring place to be. I am proud to be an Ambassador and to support this charity’s work”. 

Charlotte Pearson

Charlotte is a marketing and communications specialist who currently works as Marketing Director for MyMiltonKeynes BID. 

“I started working with Camphill MK a few years ago when I helped them with a PR campaign.  I am delighted also that my sister lives at Camphill MK and is having the best time in the community”.

Isabel Jones

Isabel has been a volunteer in the charitable sector for most of her adult life, her career is in retail, market research and project management. 

‘’On my first visit to Camphill MK and meeting with some of the residents I knew that I wanted to be part of the community so joined as a volunteer

In addition to my volunteering work with the fundraising team, I am now proud to serve as an ambassador for Camphill MK’’

Peter Howard

Peter started his career as an architect for MK Development Corporation back in the 70’s.  Since then he has been instrumental in the design of many MK buildings.  Peter is a trustee of Camphill MK and a trustee for the Fred Roche Foundation. 

“As a trustee, I am committed to supporting Camphill MK as a strong and structured organisation.  This additional role of Ambassador is a great opportunity for me to further promote the work of Camphill MK.”

Debbie Greaves

For more than 20 years, Debbie was involved in formal sector education; as a classroom practitioner, and a teacher trainer.  Since then, she has worked for an international development charity and opened Sust! the first fair-trade shop in the Centre:MK. Latterly, she became a fundraiser at the Open University and Northampton University.

“Since retiring, I have launched a pet business that was featured on Dragons’ Den but I have stayed active in the local voluntary sector. After a long relationship with Camphill MK, I am pleased to be a new Ambassador.”

Cllr James Lancaster

James’ career has mainly been in the Leisure and Hospitality trade, creating better and active lifestyles around MK through leisure and hospitality facilities. James is a local Councillor in MK and loves the city, particularly for what it  has, and will continue to offer, to the public.

“The incredible work Camphill MK offers showcases the community spirit and mindfulness our City aspires to.  I am and will be loud and proud to shout about what Camphill has to offer for all to know about this wonderful place”.

John Moffoot MBE DL

John’s background is in local authority governance and he is passionate about Milton Keynes and how the people that live here can enjoy the city.  He is a trustee at Camphill MK, The Milton Keynes Rose Trust and Tools for Self-Reliance.

Sue Garner

Sue is a professional trainer; running a company upskilling teams.  She works with staff at Camphill MK who are ready for their growth into a leadership role.  Sue is also Deputy Mayor for Newport Pagnell. 

“I really enjoy working with Camphill and seeing their staff grow into new roles.  I also have had the opportunity to get to know a lot of the residents which has been a delight.  Camphill MK is a lovely community”. 

Elizabeth Sheldon

Elizabeth has had a career spanning 3 very different environments. For the last 21 years it has been in the field of security technology where she was CEO of a digital forensic technology company here in MK.

“I have been a volunteer since the age of 9 and am a firm believer in giving back to society. I love being involved with this worthy organisation and am honoured to hold the position of Chair of Trustees. Being an ambassador is a natural step for a trustee, and I want to broaden our contact with local and national businesses who can see the value of being associated with Camphill Communities”.

John Skelton

John has had a career in academic bookselling and publishing. Since selling his business he has been a director of various publishing organisations and a trustee of MK Gallery.

‘Camphill MK has been a valued venue for family occasions, both in the cafe and in the Chrysalis Theatre. Their vision for growth fulfils a real need in the city, and I am delighted to be part of it.’

 

Francesca Skelton DL

After a career in magazine publishing, Francesca managed charity Relate MK in her home town of Milton Keynes, and took on voluntary roles as Chair of MK Community Foundation and later MK College and Arts & Heritage Alliance MK.
 
‘I have been visiting Camphill MK, one of my favourite places, for years. I remember the Chrysalis Theatre being built with funds from the MK Community Foundation.’
