Happy Valentines!

Happy Valentine’s Day, weekend, week or even month!

Our lovely bunch have been preparing and celebrating with many love-inspired activities.

Pennyland House residents started their Valentine’s celebration by making lovely cards, which will soon reach their special people. (Big thanks to Katia for her outstanding support!)

Jenny and CC worked hard on their Valentine’s project, colouring and cutting out many colourful love hearts.

At Blackthorn House, residents and best buds shared the love early with hugs, which we must mention.

Our handmade Valentine’s cards also landed in our Camphill Community Cafe Shop. Our residents created them based on hand drawings, which were linocut and printed in our Art and Craft workshop.

And our Valentine’s Bake-Off saw the houses run a friendly, love-inspired baking competition.

At Oberlin House, Katia, Carolyn, Clare and James enjoyed making a chocolate brownie cake with strawberries.

Sunwood House’s cake entry may not have won first place, but residents Anthony, Stephen, and Alex worked really well together. Alex showed off his excellent cream piping skills, Anthony cut out some great strawberry ‘hearts,’ and Stephen was the ‘muscle’ who did some great mixing.

Soltane House had fun, too, and we were really impressed with their meaningful decorating ideas about the people they love.

Our superstar Care & Support Support Worker, Ewa, who organises the bake-off between the houses, commented on the judging day. She told us, “There was so much love in one room. Our Valentine’s Bake-Off is officially behind us, and what a sweet success it was! The esteemed judging panel—Prince, Hector, Johnny, Jay, Chris, and Amanda—had a tough job, as every single cake was unique and absolutely delicious. They awarded points for presentation and gave extra marks for taste.”

The deserving joint winners of this edition of Bake-Off were residents from Soltane, Blackthorn, and Whitethorn! Congratulations to them! But let’s be honest—every creation was a masterpiece in its own right. Well done, everyone!

We wish you all a very happy Valentine’s Day!
