About the Role:

Camphill Milton Keynes is excited to offer a unique and exciting opportunity for a dynamic, driven and person-centred Deputy Care and Support Manager to join our growing team.

Set in a beautiful community location near Willen Lake, Camphill Milton Keynes is an established charity and provider of Supported Living and Day Opportunities for adults with learning disabilities within a community setting. We promote meaningful activity and occupation for the people we support and are currently developing a range of new services as part of our continued growth and expansion. We are seeking individuals who can complement and develop a stable, highly-motivated and person-focused team as Deputy Care and Support Manager. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will be a confident and outgoing manager who will support us with the recruitment, transition and admission of new residents, supervising and developing talent within our exceptional care and support team, ensuring that the service continues to provide high quality care and support and helping us to introduce new systems into our work. You’ll be a confident IT user and a proactive self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team to meet targets and to seek out and create new opportunities for the charity to grow and extend our reach including the assessment, transition and admission of new residents. You’ll be prepared to work hands on where needed including supporting our houses and getting involved in a range of community events.

You will ideally have a relevant professional qualification at Level 5 or above in social care, or hold professional registration as an RGN/Occupational Therapist or similar. You will have at least 3 years of experience in a management role within social care, either in a similar role or you’ll be a Team Leader with the calibre and motivation to progress. You will have experience of working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities and other related conditions and have a strong track record of success with providing person-centred outcomes. Camphill Milton Keynes Communities is a charity providing unique person centred support, based on a modern view of the Camphill movement, for adults with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum condition, as well as a number of people living in the Milton Keynes area who have a learning disability.

Main function of the job:

(Note: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required).

To lead in partnership with the Registered Manager and Care & Support Team to provide high quality care and support to residents with learning disabilities – in line with Camphill Milton Keynes Communities values and principles, best practice, government legislation, contract and audit standards and service sustainability.

To assess prospective residents in collaboration with the registered manager, monitoring and responding to referrals and progressing their admission and in house assessment.
