National Citizen Service with Action4Youth
During the summer, we were fortunate to be joined by two groups from the National Citizen Service scheme run by Action4Youth. The young people supported us with projects across our community and raised an incredible £1,365.
The first group of students worked hard renovating our outdoor furniture, which helped get the café back on its feet. It started to welcome visitors after being closed due to COVID restrictions. The second group joined our Garden Workshop to undertake a variety of different tasks.
After their time on-site, they got stuck in with their fundraising with a cake sale and sponsored walk in fancy dress.
Julia Funge, Day Opportunities Manager, remarked, “Thank you so much for your help in making our Café furniture look nicer and more welcoming to our visitors. You were a real joy to have around and made a really positive contribution to our community”.
Ethan Hopkinson, our Fundraiser, said, “The young people managed to raise an incredible amount of money and really got stuck in with the practical tasks that they were given. So a really big thank you to every single one of them!”
