Camphill MK – Not Your Average Employer

As a community, we rely on our team to keep things going day to day and offer invaluable support to our residents with learning disabilities.

We are always on the lookout for individuals who wish to make a difference, try a new path, and join our community. It’s a bit of a cliche, but we really are a big family!

We’ve been chatting with our team about what it’s really like to be employed by Camphill MK. There are many perks, from ongoing training to community events, and although jobs in social can be challenging, they can be so much more rewarding.

We chat with Kevin M., one of our house coordinators, to find out what he thinks about working for Camphill MK!

CMKC: How did you hear about Camphill MK?

KM: I’ve known about Camphill MK for years and saw the vacancy on their Facebook page.

CMKC: What is your current role?

KM: I’m a House coordinator.

CMKC: Briefly, tell us what you do.

KM: Support work, key working and compliance admin.

CMKC: What attracted you to Camphill MK in the first place?

KM: A friend’s recommendation initially. As soon as I spoke to the manager and had a walk around, I HAD to work here.

CMKC: What makes Camphill MK different from other employers in your sector?

KM: The human touch on every level.

CMKC: What’s your favourite part of your job?

KM: The residents.

CMCK: Have you received any extra training to do your job?

KM: Yes.

CMKC: Tell us why you like working for Camphill MK. What makes it different or unique?

KM: The whole package. It’s tough to pinpoint individual elements. I love all our residents, all our staff and management. Everything at Camphill MK is ‘feel-good’, and we know that what we do is appreciated. So there is a definite ‘all in this together’ feel. I passionately believe in Camphill MK and in everything we do.

CMKC: What are the perks of the job at Camphill MK?

KM: The biggest perk of the job is that most of the time, it doesn’t feel like ‘work’ in the traditional sense. I get home tired sometimes, but I feel good, and I always look forward to the next shift. The management team are very fair, understanding and approachable. I trust them.

CMKC: Would you recommend Camphill MK as an employer?

KM: Most definitely!!!!!!!
