MKBAA Awards

Camphill MK Wins MKBAA Award

We are proud to have won the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards for Arts & Culture.

It was a rather glamorous evening at the MK Don’s Stadium. A few Camphill staff and Trustees attended, and we are all proud to represent Camphill at the event.

This year’s theme for the event was ‘Celebrating Diversity’, announced earlier this year by organisers, Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership. Camphill MK was selected as a finalist in two award categories: Charity of the Year and Arts and Culture. The panel were taken by the creativity of our residents, the support they are given to develop their work, and the impact it has on the broader community, and we won the Arts & Culture category!

It was a lovely evening with many high-profile companies, organisations and individuals in the room. The presentation countdown to each category winners announcement included showing films from each organisation – ours, created with the organisers earlier in the month at Camphill, mainly focussing on our residents telling the story of what Camphill is and how the community and workshops operate.

A big well done to our workshops teams and all the residents – last year, they took part in 3,900 creative and horticultural workshops (that’s 78 workshops every week!)

We were up against some fantastic organisations in both categories.

Charity of the year – won by YMCA Milton Keynes, saw us up against Hazard Alley, Ride High, Dreamsai (who won a special mention). We did really well to get into the final five!

The Culture and Arts award – looking at which organisations had made a worthwhile contribution to the city’s economy and community through cultural and artistic endeavours, including MK Islamic Arts and Culture, Motus Dance and The Parks Trust, so some really significant competition and some wonderful organisations!
