Milton Keynes Disability Awareness Day (MKDAD) 2026
Milton Keynes to Celebrate Disability Awareness Day 2026 with Week-Long Programme of Inclusive Events
A vibrant programme of activities is set to take place across Milton Keynes this July as the community comes together to celebrate Milton Keynes Disability Awareness Day (MKDAD) 2026; an annual initiative dedicated to recognising the abilities, contributions, and experiences of people with disabilities.
Taking place on Tuesday 14 July 2026, with a week-long build-up of activities from Monday 6 to Friday 10 July, the event continues a proud tradition commemorated with a dedicated pillar at the MK Rose in Campbell Park—marking 14 July as a day of collaboration, awareness, and celebration.

In the lead-up to the main celebration, local charities, community groups, and businesses are hosting a variety of inclusive events throughout Milton Keynes. These include a group inclusive walk around Lodge Lake by the Parks Trust, Dance Sessions with MacIntyre, Football with the MK Dons Community Trust, and Art Journaling for carers.
These sessions aim to highlight the support, services, and opportunities available for people with disabilities.
The highlight of the programme will be the open-to-all celebration event at MK Rose, Campbell Park, on Tuesday 14 July from 12:00 to 2:30pm.
This outdoor event will feature live performances, interactive workshops, sports and activity sessions in a relaxed, family-friendly “bring-your-own picnic” atmosphere.

Anyone can attend, popping along for a short visit or staying for the whole event. The day starts with live music and ends with a group outdoor silent disco.
Schools are also invited to get involved. Residents at Camphill Milton Keynes (adults with learning disabilities) have created packs for schools including workbooks, videos and suggested assembly and class activities. This resource pack is available for free by completing this short form: Schools Sign Up
“MK Disability Awareness Day celebrates what people with disabilities can do, championing inclusivity and collaboration across the city”. Chair of the Organising Committee John Moffoot DL told us. “It is organised as a co-production project; bringing together charities, organisations, and the wider community to create a programme that will be interesting and open to all”.
Carolyn Green from Camphill MK, who has taken on a lead role coordinating all the partners said “with events having taken place for several years, 2026 promises to be one of the most engaging programmes yet, offering new opportunities for residents, organisations, schools, and businesses to get involved”.
