My Neighbour Totoro

My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican Theatre

We were thrilled to travel to London to see My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican Theatre. The show was produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and included puppets made by the Jim Henson workshop. We were lucky to have the opportunity to do a touch tour before watching the show. On the touch tour, we got to go on the stage, look around the set, see the costumes and hug Totoro, but we can’t show pictures of that because the puppets are top secret, and we are sworn to keep the secrets!

It’s safe to say that we loved the five-star, award-winning production. Winner of six Olivier Awards and five WhatsOnStage Awards, this staging of the celebrated 1988 animated feature film My Neighbour Totoro is an enchanting coming-of-age story exploring the magical fantasy world of childhood and the transformative power of imagination as it follows one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei.
