Stephen B Has Achieved One of His Fish Wishes at the Milton Keynes Museum!!

Stephen has achieved one of his Fish Wishes at the Milton Keynes Museum.

Stephen’s late father, Mr. Stanley ‘Stan’ Butler, was the Royal Train Foreman, later retitled as the ‘Royal Train Superintendent’.  He had a proud 39 year history working with the Royal Family and was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal for his services to the crown.

Stephen’s family gave the museum lots of items, commemorating his father’s work for the Royal Family.  Items that Stephen was able to see during his visit included Christmas cards sent from the Royal Family and large photo albums full of photos of his father with various Royal Family members over many years.  Stephen also saw special Royal Train ties, buttons and a jumper, that his father would have worn as part of his uniform.  There is also an invitation for Stanley, and his wife Wyn, to attend a Royal Reception, which was sent from the then ‘Prince of Wales’ Prince Charles!  Stephen’s brother has also told us that, due to Stanley’s close working relationship with Prince Charles, as he was then, both he and his wife (Wyn) were invited to attend the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.

Who knew that we had someone who was so close to Royalty in our Camphill Community!

See if you can name some of the Royals in the photos!!
