Camphill MK’s Chrysalis Theatre Awarded a Grant from the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme

We’re thrilled to announce that our theatre, the Chrysalis MK, has been selected for a grant thanks to the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme supported by The Linbury Trust.

The Chrysalis MK is more than just a theatre; it is a creative hub for performance, events, and community based in Milton Keynes. Established in 2004, the venue is a multi-function space built to meet the needs of the Camphill Milton Keynes Community. For 20 years now, the venue has been used for a wide variety of internal and external workshops, performances, conferences, and events.

The Chrysalis Theatre is at a turning point. A new theatre manager, Chris Bradley-Goodship, was appointed in September 2025, and the charity’s leadership has signed off on a refocus to enhance programming and emphasise inclusive theatre (aligning with Camphill’s own values and meeting a gap in the local market). It is important that the building is ready for this new part of its journey and that the first audience member entering for this enhanced programme feels the warmth, quality and consideration in every way they engage with the space. The £6,880 grant will specifically support an update and upgrade of the theatre’s technical offering, helping us purchase a number of LED DMX interface lights and significantly upgrade the current installation.

“For the past 8 years, the Chrysalis MK has primarily been used by repeat and regular users in a self-managed model”, new theatre manager Chris told us “ This new programming model will engage inclusive theatre companies to work with our residents through workshops, as well as attracting a ticket-buying customer base for the shows, which we are very excited about.”
