Spreading Festive Cheer

On the 13th of December, our community came together for Christmas carols, mince pies and a visit from Father and Mrs Christmas.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to Blum and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited for spreading big festive cheer in our community. 

Local manufacturer of systems for furniture, Blum delivered goodie bags of Christmas treats, while Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited donated to fund personalised gifts for our eighty residents.

We have been very fortunate to have long-standing support from both Milton Keynes businesses this year. Earlier this year, Blum staff voted for us to receive a corporate donation of £1,500 to support our capital campaign to build new and accessible accommodation for an additional 60 disabled adults. Blum also invited residents to visit their UK headquarters (in Kingston, MK) to see their automated assembly line and enjoy team-building activities in their education rooms. 

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited gifted us £350 to fund personalised gifts for our residents. Earlier this year, they supported us by hiring our meeting rooms and commissioning our on-site Café to cater for the event. They were also one of the corporate sponsors who donated food tins to help us support the MK Food Bank MK Can campaign. They have also committed to volunteering in our gardens in early 2024.

Raj Tanna, Warehouse Manager from Blum, said,  “At Blum, we are dedicated to supporting our communities global and local, we actively support charities as part of our business and social responsibility. We met Camphill during our sustainability journey we recognised the worthwhile efforts and saw them as an organisation we wanted to support. We believe that compassion has the power to transform lives and build stronger communities, and Camphill is the model of these ideals. We do not see an option but to support their cause”. 

Tim Davies, CEO at Camphill MK, told us. “Partnerships with businesses like Blum and Mercedes–Benz Financial Services provide a valuable connection with the business community in MK for our residents and help us to improve our impact, with businesses finding multiple ways to support us, from educational trips, holiday celebrations, and cash donations. Last month, Blum also provided a free board room, technology, refreshments and lunch so our leadership team could undertake planning for the coming year. This generosity allows us to focus our funds for direct support of our residents”. 

Big thanks, also, to Ewa for getting Santa Claus to take time out of his busy schedule to meet, greet and gift presents to our residents!
