Anke’s Cycle Challenge

Anke, one of our Care & Support/Workshops team members, has re-embarked on an epic cycle challenge. 

Back in 2020, Anke and her husband decided to take a year off on a long cycle tour around Europe. But, of course, we all know that this was the year the pandemic started, and due to Covid restrictions, they didn’t get as far as they would have liked.

Fast forward a few years, Anke is raising funds for Camphill MK and has decided to do a virtual cycle tour across Europe, from Saint-Brevin-les-Pins on the Atlantic coast to Constanta on the Black Sea. It’s a slightly amended version of the Eurovelo 6, a route which visits nine countries and follows several major European rivers. The course includes stretches which she has actually cycled in the past, and she says, “It will be lovely to revisit those memories.”

Anke will physically cycle the 2680 miles in and around Milton Keynes. She is giving herself a year to complete the challenge and raise funds. She adds, “I have a long history with Camphill Milton Keynes and I look forward to raising funds towards the work of this wonderful community,” adding, “The cycle Challenge will certainly make me cycle more!”
