Hear Our Call – A Play in a Week

After successfully collaborating with the performing arts group Act Out & Act Up last year, they returned to the Chrysalis MK theatre for another action-packed and drama-filled play-in-a-week project with our Centre Stage performing arts group. 

Hear Our Call was a play created in just one week, with participants completing a plot, characters, devised script, and props in just five days. The immersive week of theatre production focussed on inclusion and confidence building.

Starting with nothing more than a title, ‘Hear Our Call’, the group of children and Camphill MK participants explored ideas around having our voices heard and the issues that really mattered to them. From this, a story was developed, music and media were created, and a play was devised and rehearsed, ready for a public performance. And all that in just one week! 

It was an incredible achievement for all involved, which crossed community barriers and made many happy memories. A huge congratulations to the participants! Well done to everyone, and thank you, Paul, Mitchell, Craig, and Roanna. Thank you to everyone who supported and came to watch.
