MK Can – We NEED Your Cans!
On 16th October 2023, we will be helping MK Food Bank to smash the Guinness World Record of the world’s longest line made up from donated canned food. Milton Keynes is coming together in the world record attempt by lining up 10km of food cans. That would be enough to feed the hungry families in Milton Keynes for six months.🥫
Thank you to our supporters who have popped into our Cafe to donate! We have also received donations from corporates including, GT Automation, Deloitte, Shakespeare Martineau and Mercedes, who are also collecting for for us.
The World Record attempt will occur on World Food Day, Monday 16th October, in and around Campbell Park, but we need YOUR HELP!
Camphill MK aims to raise 350 cans* of long-dated human food. We have set up a collection point outside our Cafe where you can drop off canned food.
*Standard size (400g or above) canned human-grade food only.
MK Food Bank, a local charity, aims for an ambitious target of 132,000 cans over a 10km line and is mobilising the whole of Milton Keynes to help achieve this. They help to support thousands of households in crisis, and we want to help.
In July, Callum, Freddy, Liam, Stuart, and Guimin from our Residents Forum went to the launch ceremony to find out how we could help. We have since pledged our support for the event. Many other members of the community will also join the event.
