A Poet in Our Midst

Our new resident, Lucie, is very talented at writing poetry. Here we aim to publish and highlight her writing on our blog, but before we do, here’s a little bit about her.

Living with Cerebral Palsy, Lucie faces many challenges in daily life, but her ability to create and write is not one of them. She’s undoubtedly interested in poetry and anything to do with literature in general. Lucie has had some of her work published which was always her childhood dream. Born in Bucks, she also loves her beautiful Norwegian forest cat, Waggles.

Here is her 1st poem written at Camphill MK.

I don’t know you that well

I don't know you that well
I've only been here for a while
But life is short and frail
And I want to make the most of it
Living life like there's no tomorrow
On the road called life
I don't know you that well
I've only been here for a few months
But life is short and tough
And I want to make the best of it
Living life like there's no tomorrow
On the road called freedom
I don't know you that good
I've only been here for some time
But life is short and sweet
And I want to make the memories last forever
Living life like there's no tomorrow
On the road called adventure
